A Monday Morning List

Happy Monday, my friends! I have a list for you.

1. Later this week, I’m going on a mini-Charlie book tour.

Or is that a Charlie mini-book tour? I never can get that straight. And when you think about it, there’s nothing miniature about Charlie. Absolutely nothing. Except of course his energy level. And I would say that’s miniscule, not miniature.

Even though this is a Charlie book tour, I will of course sign cookbooks, too, if you already have one or would like to pick one up for a Christmas gift! At most of the stops, I’ll be doing a talk/presentation involving a projector, a screen, and a microphone. It’s definitely family-friendly (I think) so kids are of course welcome. And by “family-friendly” please note that this does not mean “normal.” I can’t promise it won’t be strange. But I can promise I’ll likely make a fool of myself! So in that sense, it could turn out to be a learning experience for you and your children—something to spark family conversation.

Here are the stops!

Saturday2. My boy and Marlboro Man had their championship football game on Saturday.

They lost 0-6 and it was so gut-wrenching and painful, and I teared up behind my smudgy sunglasses. But then I teared up when I saw how excited the winning team was when they won. Then I teared up when I realized the season was over. Then I teared up because I then had to drive an hour-and-a-half to take my daughter to her soccer game. Then I grabbed some spicy sesame beef when I was in the town where her soccer game was, and it was so spicy I teared up again. I mean, I know the menu said “spicy” but I didn’t think they meant spicy.

So it was a Saturday full of emotion for all of us.

Congratulations, Woodland! You fought the good fight and played an awesome game.

We’ll get ‘em next year, team!

3. I can’t HANDLE the football.

It’s way too much for me.

Blue truck.4. When my girl and I were driving to her soccer game Saturday afternoon, I saw this metallic blue pickup at the dealership and pulled in to take a photo of it.

Then I texted the photo to Marlboro Man and wrote, “My dream vehicle!!!!!” just to see what he’d say.

He did not reply.

He still hasn’t replied, in fact.

My point is, I think one of you should get this pickup! But only if you’re in the market for a new pickup.

It’s very metallic and blue. As you can see.

And I think you should get this mixer to go with it.

It’s customary to match one’s stand mixer to one’s pickup, yes?

5. As you can see from my tour information above, I’m going to be at Mall of America this Sunday.

For those of you who live locally, I was just wondering if there are any good places to shop around there? After my signing, I need to stop off at a shopping center to pick up a few things, but I’m not sure if there’s anywhere to shop in the area.

6. I’m totally kidding about #5.

I just thought it would be a funny question.

7. I made these pancakes yesterday.

Please make them very soon. Today would be good.

Here’s the recipe: Silver Dollar Pumpkin Pancakes.

Or should that be “Pumpkin Silver Dollar Pancakes?”

Or should that be “Silver Dollar Pancakes That Are Pumpkin?”

I never can get that right.

8. One final thing:

I love ya.

Please, please be safe if you’re in the path of the storm, okay?

Love,
Pioneer Woman
